Kidney Diet Dog Food
Hill’s Prescription Diet k/d Food
Our dog Mindy was unwell with symptoms of sickness, wanting to drink and pass water more than usual and tiredness so we took her to the vets. After a blood test, we found that she had a low blood count and also her kidneys were struggling.
The vet advised lots of rest and that we give her Hill’s Prescription Diet k/d, kidney diet dog food, which is low in salt, phosphorus and protein – ideal for a dog with chronic or temporary renal insufficiency.
Mindy has spent her past 14 years on dry dog food so we were very pleased to find that Hill’s k/d comes in both tinned and dry versions.
We ordered the dry version from the vet and gave Mindy the tinned version which we mixed with a few mashed vegetables, mainly carrots, and she loved it. The warm vegetables helped take the chill off the tinned food (which was kept in the fridge after opening) and this helped make the meal less cold and more appetising.
There is no doubt in our experience that Hill’s k/d, kidney diet food, was enjoyed by Mindy and it helped improve the quality of her health and happiness. Of course this type of food is also available from other pet food manufacturers so shop around, if you wish, to find the best quality and price for your pet.
