Dogs on Cornwall Beaches
There’s nothing better than booking your holiday, getting really excited about it then realising you want to take your four legged friend along. Dogs need a holiday too and many owners dislike leaving a valued member of their family, be that of the fury kind, behind in a kennels or with a family friend.
Kennels can cost from ten pounds per night, let alone the stress of leaving your beloved pet which really does tough at the heart strings. A cheaper way which is less stressful too is to bring them on holiday with you. Many hotels, self catering apartments and holiday cottages are dog friendly.
Many of the beaches in Cornwall will allow dogs on them though it tends to be during the less peak season. Responsible dog owners no doubt will clear up the mess their dog makes when they fowl the footpath or grass, some others do not. This can lead to disease to the children who make play near it and touch it then rub into into their eyes etc so it’s for this reason that many beaches unfortunately do not allow dogs during the main peak season. Sometimes though if you look hard enough, you can find a beach that will allow dogs during any season .
Having your dog with you on the beach is such a wonderful feeling. They feel the soft sandy grains under their paws instead of hard pavement or grass. They can run into the sea playing fetch and feel the water around their legs. Near the shallow areas by the rock pools they can watch the tiny fish float by while they sniff them and feel the tingle of them on their nose. During your meal out by the beach your dog could try a little crab or shrimp from your plate, watch your dog’s eyes light up at that! Now that would be a holiday for you and your dog! Then at night they can be safe with you as you are with them.
Try a holiday in Cornwall now and try the Cornish beaches…what are you waiting for?
